Sales Consultant [Calgary or Edmonton, AB]
About the Role
Salary: Base + Commissions
Location: Calgary or Edmonton
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving business development, revenue growth and market presence for Miura Canada. As a key member of the sales team, this role will contribute to the establishment and expansion of Miura’s footprint by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new opportunities and delivering technically sound boiler solutions.
This position combines technical expertise with strategic sales execution. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to customers, consultants, and contractors, while also playing a critical role in market intelligence, brand awareness, and long-term regional growth. A high degree of autonomy, initiative and accountability is required to build a sustainable and scalable sales pipeline in a developing territory.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities through direct engagement with end users, industry contacts and strategic prospecting.
- Further establish Miura’s presence in the province by building a strong pipeline of opportunities across key sectors that utilize boiler systems
- Develop relationships with engineering consultants, specifying firms, and industry influencers to position Miura equipment in project specifications
- Actively participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry associations to generate leads and build brand awareness.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and the industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and maintain a competitive advantage
- Conduct on-site assessments including boiler room evaluations, system measurements, and data collection (e.g. water samples, load studies) to determine appropriate equipment sizing and system design.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations, proposals and technical submissions based on customer needs and project specifications
- Present Miura boiler solutions to customers, engineers and contractors, clearly explaining Miura’s value propositions including efficiency, sustainability and operational benefits.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance and support throughout the sales cycle and project lifecycle
- Collaborate with contractors and service teams to support smooth project execution, including installation and commissioning phases.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone and email
- Work closely with internal engineering, manufacturing, service and administration teams to ensure solutions are aligned with customer requirements and company capabilities.
- Provide market feedback and insights to leadership to support strategic decision making
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities and customer interactions within CRM systems.
- All other duties and responsibilities as required
About You
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field is preferred
- 3 + years sales experience in technical sales, preferably within boilers, HVAC, mechanical systems or industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of steam systems, boiler operations and mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards in the applicable province
- Ability to work independently, concisely, and accurately to meet deadlines;
- Effective analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills (interacting with supervisors, staff and suppliers);
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong written, listening, and presentation skills;
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities to bring projects to completion using initiative and creativity in dynamic manufacturing environment with minimal supervision;
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
- Must be willing to travel as required for trade shows, to meet customers, support projects and visit head office in Ontario
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to conduct site visits, including accessing industrial boiler rooms and mechanical spaces

Gas Technician 1 (G1 Tech) - Service Technician [ON]
Duties
- Travels to customer locations in Ontario and identifies boiler failures/problems. Repairs, services or replaces all items as deemed necessary and appropriate. (uses wrenches, hand tools, combustion analyzers, and multimeters)
- Performs regular inspections on boilers in Ontario as outlined in the Inspection Report Form. (uses wrenches, hand tools, combustion analyzers, and multimeters)
- Troubleshoots boiler control panel problems and all associated wiring and parts deficiencies and repair or replace anything where necessary. (uses multimeter and simulator)
- Take water samples from customers Miura steam systems for analysis
- Perform basic water treatment testing of the boiler water program and report conditions to clients
- Communicates with customers (by phone, email or in person) to solve their complaints. Maintains Fleetmatics account by uploading reports and data.
- Assesses and identifies all scale and corrosion related problems with regard to the boiler.
- Assesses and evaluates steam and hot water distribution systems such that safe and appropriate recommendations and evaluations can be made.
- Maintains parts inventory in stock room and in vans. Informs company representative when parts may need to be ordered for warehouse stock.
- Performs the start up of boilers for new or retrofit installations and monitors boiler operations to ensure that the boilers are working appropriately and that any problems are resolved.
- Ensure adherence to all COMPANY policies and practices including; Health and Safety, HR and any additional that are applicable in your role.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- TSSA G1 Gas license for Ontario
- Valid G Ontario Drivers License + Clean Drivers Abstract
- 3-5 Years Experience Servicing Commercial Boilers
- Water Treatment experience is an asset
- 3-5 Years Customer Service Experience
